Former Democratic Senator Tom Daschle mentored Obama into running for the Democratic nomination. In so doing, Obama, being a newly minted Senator, questioned is own preparation for such a high office as President of the United States. Daschle reassured Obama that Obama should not suppose that this window of opportunity would return again because experience in office can interfere with the message. The point being, the longer one is in office, the more negative material the opposition will find. What a resounding voice of confidence for the Democratic candidate! This puerile politician was purposely thrust forth precisely because of his lack of experience - in effect, no history is better than a history dotted with successes and failures as would be the case with Hillary and others. In Obama's case, a lack of field experience is run as a virtue and his untested message venerable. Daschle's views were explained clearly in the PBS Front Line documentary on McCain and Obama. Obama's "Take A Chance On Me" theme is insufficient for an America that needs real leadership based on real achievement. America cannot bank on a pig in a poke.
